GIA New York Labs released a test report for a 5.01 ct orange-pink synthetic diamond, the largest synthetic diamond of its color to date. The diamond was submitted by New York rhinestone dealer Unique Lab Grown Diamond Inc and synthesized by CVD chemical vapor deposition. GIA describes it as one of the most valuable CVD synthetic diamonds ever tested. This pink diamond is cut by Radiant and measures 9.45×9.10×6.05mm. It is identified as Type IIa diamond by GIA and reaches Fancy intense pinkish orange. The diamond color is evenly distributed. The diamond clarity is equivalent to SI1 level. Small feathers and needle-like inclusions can be observed under the magnifying glass. Based on all the spectral characteristics of the diamond, GIA judged that the diamond was not subjected to high temperature and high pressure annealing to improve the color and may be subjected to moderate heat treatment. Unique Lab Grown Diamond claims that this 5.01ct diamond is currently the largest known CVD synthetic powder drill. The company has also synthesized a 3.23ct circular cut powder drill that has been certified by IGI to achieve the Fancy Light Pink color grade.
