This technology has opened up new ways to use high-alumina fly ash to produce alumina, which will help ease the shortage of bauxite resources in China.
The comprehensive utilization technology of fly ash was researched and developed by Datang International and Tsinghua University. The main raw materials were fly ash and carbide slag collected from the smoke from the Tangto Power Plant chimney. At the same time as the extraction of alumina, the joint production activity Calcium silicate, calcium calcium slag can be used to produce cement clinker. It is understood that the new process of using calcium carbide slag to treat calcium silicate in this technology, compared with China's traditional alumina production process, avoids the massive emission of red mud and can solve the problems of land occupation and environmental pollution. There are two problems encountered in the manufacturing process of the new vertical-slot tube condenser. One is the rolling of the vertical pipe and the other is the connection of the aluminum pipe and the steel pipe plate. After a preliminary investigation, these two problems have not yet had a mature experience in the country. Therefore, we conducted some tests on two issues to ensure the completion of this condenser processing task.
At present, Datang Tuoketuo Power Plant has used a comprehensive utilization of fly ash technology has been completed with an annual output of 3,000 tons of alumina demonstration plant, from the plant operating conditions, the technology is mature and reliable, the product meets the national quality standards.
The reporter learned that China's current bauxite resources are only 2.1 billion tons, and the per capita occupancy is far below the world average. The contradiction between the development of the aluminum industry and the shortage of bauxite resources has become increasingly prominent. Experts said that the production of alumina using fly ash with an alumina content of 40% will ease this contradiction and provide resources for the long-term development of China's non-ferrous metals industry.
