In the air, the oxidation is strong, so the protein loss is high, so, in general, lightly flattened and dried, the effect is best.
(4) The use of chemical agents using dehydrating agents can destroy the plant's stratum corneum and cell membranes, promote the evaporation of water in plants, and accelerate the drying speed. The most used chemical agents are: organic acids (propionic acid, acetic acid), acid salts (sodium diacetate, sorbic acid), inorganic salts (potassium carbonate, sodium hydrogencarbonate, sodium chloride, etc.), ammonium compounds, urea , fermentation products, etc. Tests have shown that the addition of 3% potassium carbonate during the alfalfa hay preparation process results in a rapid decrease in water content and a 34% increase in drying rate.
