Simple measurement diameter

In the field maintenance, sometimes the diameter of some round defects is measured. If two equal diameter cylinders are used for indirect measurement, the cylinder is not easy to place and is stable, which is not convenient in practical work. We use two equal-thickness cuboids, such as white steel knives, which are easily available in the general repair department and do not require special processing. As long as the dimension h and the blade length 2b (or the distance 2b where the two blades are placed) and the thickness m as seen in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 are measured, the diameter of the circle is easily calculated:
