The "Regulations on the Protection of Electric Power Facilities and Power in Shandong Province" will come into effect on March 1.
On November 25, 2010, the 20th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 11th People's Congress of Shandong Province passed the “Regulations on the Protection of Electric Power Facilities and Power in Shandong Provinceâ€. The “Regulations†stipulates the principles of power facilities and power protection, the scope and protection measures of power plant protection areas, and the responsibility and prohibition of property rights holders of electric power facilities; and clarify that scientific power use, safe power use, and conservation should be implemented for the supply and use of electricity. Principles of electricity, power supply companies have the guarantee of power quality, user-friendly, continuous power supply and other obligations; at the same time, the provisions of the power administrative departments powers, complaints and reporting system, the public security organs and other duties, as well as different subjects in violation of this Ordinance should bear the legal responsibility. The promulgation of the new "Regulations" will provide effective legal protection for preventing and cracking down the crimes of stealing electricity, safeguarding the security of the power grid and normal supply and use of electricity, and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of property owners and customers.
