Researchers at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU / E) have developed a new automotive coating that is not easily dirty and can save the user the hassle of often having to "clean up" the car for cleaning. This coating improves scratch-resistance technology and can be more effective against water, dirt and scratches. However, there is still a problem that the persistence of this technology still needs to be enhanced. Because the nanocoating molecular clusters are easily damaged, this means that the coating can easily lose its properties.
Researcher Catarina Esteves and her chemical engineering team are working hard to solve this problem. The team said that the layer should be maintained at a longer height and water cycle, so that the car can achieve a true "self-cleaning."
In addition, the team also mentioned that these coatings can also be used for solar panels, mobile phones and aircraft. Esteves said she hopes the new paint will be officially produced in six to eight years. The price of the new coating will be similar to the paint on the market.
