A recent study was published to describe a method that allows the laser beam to transmit farther than currently available. Researchers at the University of Arizona have discovered that laser beams can be wrapped in another laser beam to increase the distance travelled in the air. This process is described as a process similar to the transmission in insulated wire wrapped wires.
The researchers said that a bundle of ordinary consumer lasers can travel a long distance. However, when the laser reaches a certain intensity, the laser beam is disintegrated (collapsed) by itself. Collapse is so strong that oxygen and helium electrons in the air are separated out to form a plasma.
The laser beam created by the researcher is called a "wearing" beam because it is wrapped in another laser beam. The internal beam can be transmitted to more distant distances. The study provided scientists with new possibilities for controlling the weather and could use new types of laser beams to control rainfall.
At present, raining with a laser beam is limited by the short range of the current laser beam and cannot reach a designated place. During the test, researchers have been able to extend the beam length of an energy-enhanced laser beam to a distance of 7 feet (about 213 cm). It is hoped that the transmission distance will be further extended. Researchers claim that the laser beam can theoretically be transmitted to about 50 meters.
