HD monitoring system switch how to choose?

Network monitoring system occupies an absolute position in China's security. In high-definition network video surveillance systems, there are often customer feedback screen delays, stalls and other phenomena, there are many reasons for this phenomenon, but in most cases it is still The configuration of the switch is not reasonable, resulting in insufficient bandwidth. The switch is an indispensable device for the entire system. Whether it is correctly configured directly affects the stability of the network monitoring system in the later period.

With more and more use of high-definition cameras, how to choose the right switch that meets the needs of monitoring the overall network architecture has also become very important in the early stage of high-definition monitoring system formulation and project quotations. A suitable switch not only can play its role in monitoring the network and can effectively reduce the waste of resources.

When choosing a switch, choose from the backplane bandwidth and packet forwarding rate. The backplane bandwidth is the maximum amount of data that can be processed between the interface processor or interface card and the data bus. It indicates the overall data exchange capability of the switch. The higher the backplane bandwidth, the stronger the ability to process data. The packet forwarding rate is also referred to as port throughput. It refers to the packet forwarding capability of a router on a port. The higher the packet forwarding rate, the better the performance.

From the perspective of network topology, a medium- and large-scale high-definition network video surveillance system must adopt a three-tier network architecture: access layer, convergence layer, and core layer.

1, the access layer switch selection:

The access layer switch is mainly used for down-linking front-end network HD cameras and uplink aggregation switches. Calculate the 720P network camera 4M code stream, a 100M port access switch can access a few 720P network cameras?

The actual bandwidth of our commonly used switches is 50%-70% of the theoretical value, so the actual bandwidth of a 100Mbit is 50M-70M. 4M*12=48M. It is therefore recommended that a 100M access switch should have access to a maximum of 12 720P network cameras. At the same time consider that the current network monitoring using dynamic encoding, the peak camera stream may exceed 4M bandwidth, while taking into account the bandwidth of the redundant design, so a 100M access switch to control the best in less than 8 units, more than 8 units recommended Gigabit mouth. In some ultra-high definition network monitoring systems, in order to ensure high-definition video images, high reliability of data transmission, the access layer can also directly select full-gigabit switches.

2, the choice of aggregation layer switches:

The aggregation layer switch is mainly connected to the access layer switch and the core switch of the monitoring center. The performance is higher than that of the access switch. In general, the aggregation switch needs to select a Layer 2 switch with a Gigabit uplink. The 100M Ethernet port of the switch is connected to the switch. The Gigabit interface is connected to the core switch of the monitoring center. The number of interfaces on the aggregation switch should be controlled within 30 or less.

Or 720P network camera 4M code stream calculation, the front of each access layer switch has six 720P network cameras, the aggregation switch connected to the next five access layer switches. The total bandwidth under the aggregation layer switch is 4M*6*5=120M. Therefore, the gigabit interface should be selected for the cascade port of the aggregation switch and the core switch.

3, the choice of core switch:

The core layer switches are mainly connected to aggregation layer switches, video surveillance platforms of uplink monitoring centers, storage servers, and digital matrix devices, and are the core of the entire HD network monitoring system. When choosing the core switch, you must consider the bandwidth capacity of the entire system and how to configure the core switch incorrectly, which inevitably leads to the video screen cannot be displayed smoothly. Therefore, the monitoring center recommends the selection of full gigabit core switches. If there are many points and VLANs need to be divided, three layers of full-Gigabit core switches should be selected. The number of cameras exceeds 150. Large-scale monitoring systems should consider three-layer 10G core switches.

4, the focus of switch selection

When the video surveillance in the LAN is used for switch selection, because the main pressure is at the aggregation layer switch, the aggregation layer switch must not only monitor the storage traffic, but also bear the pressure of real-time viewing call monitoring. Therefore, it is very important to choose the applicable aggregation switch. It is recommended to select gigabit managed switches to configure the network, optimize the utilization of bandwidth, and ensure the smoothness of transmission.

Precautions

If you choose Web-managed switch management will be more convenient, it is best to choose speed limit switches, and in the choice of large cache switches, access layer and aggregation layer switches can choose Feng Runda PoE / Ethernet switches, product variety, choose a comprehensive . At the same time, the network monitoring system has high requirements for stability and real-time performance, and the equipment working environment is complex and poor. Therefore, in order to ensure the stable and efficient transmission of system data, it is recommended to select industrial Ethernet switch products with high industrial performance and good stability.
