At present, the application of methanol fuel in the internal combustion engine is basically still in the development stage. Dimethyl ether can also be directly used as automotive fuel after liquefaction, and its combustion effect is better than that of methanol. In addition to the advantages of methanol combustion, it also overcomes the shortcomings of methanol fuel. At the same time, dimethyl ether fuel has a high cetane number, so it is an ideal fuel for diesel engines.
